just purchased a set of bosch injectors for my 3.1 Liter from fuel injection connection out of Georgia, but these have no provision for the retaining clips like the stock units. I called thier tech line, but its saturday and its late so I didnt think they would get back to me till monday. Can anyone tell me if I need those clips with the aftermarket injectors? Id like to get this back together tomorrow.

 

you didn't read the instructions very well. they say not to use the retaining clips.

install the injectors in the block then put the fuel rail down.. gotta align the injectors with the rail.they fit right in and don't leak if you do it right.

check for leaks before you reinstall the upper intake.

 

There were no instructions in the package I recieved, thats why I thought I might ask to see if someone had experience with them.

The bosch design lll injectors are a newer design injector ove the stock injectors that use clips. You do not use clips with the bosch 3's because it is the pressure from the fuel rail that holds them in place. Yes, the correct way to install these injectors is to place them into the intake first, then lower down the rail. If you find that they are too short you will need an additional oring on the bottom of the injector. We provide written instructions along with a picture with all of our bosch 3's. seller say that they will match GM 3.1 V6

i have them installed with retaining clips in upper position and they have vacuum leak

But they also too short and i cant set retaining clips to correct position

May i use same procedure on my V6 as you did with V8 fuel rail?

Mechanic said that if i'll add additional o-ring at the bottom of the injector then o-ring can fall inside cylinder. (look at the shape of injectors on the picture plz)

Not a problem, yes these injectors will work with the additional oring. Tell your mechanic that it will be fine...reason being, the only purpose that the second oring serves is that it acts a spacer so when the fuel rail is lowered they will fit perfectly because they will then be the correct height. That oring makes up for the 1/8 to 1/4in length that is missing. If you have your old injectors, put them side by side oring to oring and you will see exactly what i am talking about. When he installs the injectors... that oring should be seated on the OUTSIDE the intake, it should not be pushed all of the way in otherwise it will defeat the purpose. It is a bit of a pain to get the orings onto those injectors but it is totally do-able, we have done it many times before and NEVER had any problems. I am having some difficulty uploading the pic that i have, In the meantime i will take other pics and post them for you.

The bosch lll's had the same issue. The additional oring totally solved the problem, that is why we went on to design our new adapter.

I didn't see it mentioned but make sure to grease the Orings, it'll prevent tearing and make a better seal.

 

you can lubricate the oring, but i am telling you on these injectors it is a b--ch to get them on.
before you do anything, get the orings onto the injectors, then install them into the intake manifold first, then the fuel rail, yes you can still use the clips.

yes that is correct, but that is where it should be placed for the bosch lll injector.
By the way,the adapter that we designed is much different than the one in the video. It does not have an oring inside. Our adapters and orings were custom made and tested before we started to sell them. If you noticed in the video, that adapter was loose and almost came off when they pulled it out of the manifold. A loose fit like that would have caused a vacuum leak.
With our design there is no way that you will get the adapters off and they are not loose. Anyway, we sell the injectors either way, with the 2 orings or the adapter.
Now the same oring issue holds true for the older style injectors, again i am going to try to post a pic either today or tomorrow. If there is a fitment issue because of length, you just need to add a second oring.

 

ok, so we took one of our old injectors and applied an additional oring to illustrate the placement of the orings on the older style gen ll metal body bosch injector to solve the fitment issue regarding the length of the stock injectors and the bosch. If you have similar injectors and find that they are too short, this will solve the problem. Hope this helps.

My injectors have new green Ford o-rings , also i have black original o-rings (used) from GM stock injectors. Should i reuse 'em or it will be better to buy 2 sets of original GM o-rings?

And one more question which one of these o rings should be installed first?

 

the only oring that you are going to have to worry about is the upper (additional) oring, you can use the black ones, once again, the only purpose for the additional oring is for it to act as a spacer to give you additional height so the injectors will fit properly into the rail. When you install the injectors, install them into the intake manifold first then the fuel rail... and make sure that you do not push them all of the way in, the second oring should be seated on the outside of the intake. Any other questions please do not hesitate to contact us. Remember, they are a real PIA to get on, but once they are in place you will be good to go.

That is exactly right. That is where the second oring is applied. However, I just want to clarify one thing, that adapter that was shown in the video was not ours. The adapter that we designed does not go over a "seal" on the bottom of the injector. Ours were custom made along with a custom oring. They are a direct fit for all stock set up TPI's. But yes, when we need to send the injectors for a setup with an aftermarket intake, we can apply the second orings for you or we can send a set along with your order.

 

The second O-ring without the injector seems to do the job... raises the injector up to where it need to be, seals the intake for vacuum leaks and also takes care of any rattling or slop.
