today I was looking for vacuum leaks, and I touch a tube and it came aprt in my hand. the car still runs, so I'm not sure if this was even working or not before I touched it

I've looked in the sevice manual, and I can't find a reference to this. It's connected to the vacuum canister, it's close to the oil cap, and the black tube runs down below the plenum and vanishes somewhere

anybody know what is it, and can you tell me if the other side of it is supposed to have anything hooked up to it? right now only half of it had anything hooked up

I have a 89 rs, 2.8 5 speed, not many options at all

 

looking at it again, it seems that somewhere along the way the other half of it broke, and somebody jsut bypassed it. It seems the purpose of that box is to adapt the tubing from the rubber hose to the plastic tube..

do I buy these plastic hoses already formed?

 

you can form Rockauto.com or go to your local auto parts shop or just use a rubber hose to connect the broken parts

 

I was just looking at this on my car today when i was looking for vacuum leaks lol well if i got it right, is that the vacuum line or some connector for it that goes from the fuel pressure regulator canister to the back end of the throttle body?

 

or no wait thats on the drivers side, not on the passenger side like i was thinking, its kinda hard to tell....

 

Those are the vacuum lines that go to and from the vapor canister and to the intake to burn the fuel vapors when the engine is started. As stated earlier, you can fix them with some rubber hose to connect the two ends or cap them off, but dont leave them open, or youre going to have a vacuum leak.
