Well I have been driving my car eventhough it runs like crap. The car has no power and hesitates when trying to accelerate. I can be in 3rd gear and the car is barely going over 30 mphs. At times it backfires when trying to speed up. At idle sitting at a stop light it will cutoff on its own but always starts back up. Can I please get some help here its my only vehicle at the moment.

Are you throwing a code? Check for vacuum leaks and leaks in between the MAF and the engine. Check the rubber ends of the idle air pipe, both at the intake manifold end by the dizzy base and the throttle body. Check the seating of the PCV valve. Check to see if any of your vacuum hoses are rotted. Unplug the vacuum line running to the cruise control (if equipped) and the vacuum tank and plug it to see if maybe the tank is cracked.

 

Changed plugs and wires problem solved. Why I always think the worse I don't know.
