Is this just another fancy resistor?

I was looking around on summit and saw this http://www.summitracing.com/parts/VNM-V45-128/ it looks like one of those fake ebay chips. The instructions are pretty strait forward for installation you have to hook up power, a ground, one wire goes spliced in to the throttle positioning sensor signal wire, and the other goes to the maf or map sensor signal wire. Does anybody think its really worth the $300 bucks or if it even works for that matter?

300 BUCKS!!!
I'd say you'll have better luck with a Jet chip, and those barley do anything...
