Firebird starting issues..
Alright guys heres one for ya, I got a 1992 Pontiac Firebird w/ 3.1L V6 and the fuel pump went out. I replaced the pump and tried starting the car, the engine turns over rapidly and will not fire. It has spark and the distributor is fine, and the pump is kicking on, but it isn't getting any fuel to the rail? I'm going to check the output from the fuel pump and double check all the fuel lines, but if all of that checks out fine, where do I go from there?? Any help is gladly appreciated! Thanks in advanced.

can you hear the fuel pump start up right after you put the car in ACC mode and then turn off after a couple seconds? If not you might want to check the fuel pump fuse which is located on the passenger side right behind the fuel canister.

Re: Firebird starting issues..
You may have damaged the rubber outlet line coming off of the fuel pump upon installation of the pump into the rest of the sending unit. This hose/line cracks and breaks if an improper installation is done, causing loss of fuel flow out of the tank. Drop the tank again and check all of your connections inside, outside, and electrically.

Re: Firebird starting issues..
Thanks so much for the help guys, and I'm sorry I couldn't get a reply back to y'all sooner, I'm in the military and I rarely ever have access to the internet haha. Anyway, the pump is cutting on and off just like it should but it seems it isn't getting any fuel to the rail. Ill check out the fuse when I get back home then ill drop the tank and check all the connections. Thank you for all the help guys, its very much appreciated! Any other ideas or suggestions are very much welcome!
