89 firebird 2.8 still wont start

Car cranks but wont start, has spark. Jumped the fuel pump and could here it hum, after jumping the pump the car will start for a second then quit. When I turn the ignition on I don't here the pump hum. What should I check next? Any Ideas would be helpful.

Based on some previous replies I changed the oil pressure switch (it was leaking) checked the fusible link (had continuity, its good) changed the fuel filter and changed the relay. Still wont start. I dont have a fuel pressure tester but fuel at the schrader valve. the strangest thing is that I no longer have a check engine light so I cant check codes, I'm pretty sure its not the bulb since it was on before, dont want to pull instrument cluster to confirm. Any ideas or suggestions would be really appreciated.

Thanks Rob

just becuase the pump turns on and gives you fuel at the valve doesnt mean that it couldnt still be bad, how much pressure are you getting at the vavle and while its running would be helpful to know

Did you replace the right relay? Did you check the ECM for a code 54?

Check to make sure you have power at the inline fuse on the frame rail with the orange and red wires, as this feeds both the fuel pump and the ECM. Also, check the ECM IGN fuse under the dash. Set the car up to test for codes. If the radiator fan turns on, the ECM is getting power and the SES light bulb is dead.

I had a similar problem with my 86 camaro not to long ago. After replaced several other parts with no success I checked the spark plugs. I replaced the spark plugs and wires and she fired right up without a problem. So I'd try that, hope it helps.
