Headers

Hey guys.
I have an 88 2.8L v6 Camaro. I know its a tiny little engine with little power but I want to get as much HP as I can out of it.
Im looking for some headers...Recently my exhaust manifold blew and so im considering just putting headers in.
I have no idea how much headers will help (if at all), what kind/Size I need or where I can find some.
Also, if you have any suggestions on how to get a little more HP out of my car PLEASE LET ME KNOW!
Thanks -Noah

Re: Headers

These are pretty much the only aftermarket options you have:

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PSM-72C1206/

Don't know of anyone else that makes them. Custom is probably your only other option.

You'll get more power and torque, but not much. Power out of the 60* V6? Well, the basic bolt-on stuff:
- Headers
- Cat-back exhaust
- Port/polish the heads
- Port/runner match the intake manifold(s) to the heads
- Better spark plugs, wires, distributor
- Cold-air intake or ram-air intake
- Retune of the ECU/PCM/EMS

I'm sure I'm missing a few things, but there are other threads up here that are similar. Just look back through some of them...

Re: Headers

Also helps to make sure that the engine is in as good a running condition as it can be. Im not very well versed in the v6's but one thing that comes to mind is fuel injectors on these 20+ year old cars can be in pretty bad shape

Re: Headers

Theyre made for your engine, theyll fit. The only thing you have to watch is if your state has emissions regulations, you may not be able to use them. if your state doesnt, bolt em on and go run with it.

Also, since you have a camaro, you already have a cold air intake.. the dual snorkel intake... so dont remove it.
