Knock sensor (spark sensor)

Just started working on my kids car. It's a 91 3.1 V-6. Replaced the starter and got it to start. It runs awful. Sounds like the timing is off or something. While replacing the starter there is a connector up there that is broken. The manual says it's a spark sensor. Is that the same as the knock sensor. The car is showing a code 43. I really think that the connector is the problem. Can I just get a connector from Autozone? I knew I should've fixed that with the starter off.

Yes that is a problem. Autozone might have the pigtail to splice onto the broken wire. If not, just grab one from a junkyard. You might want to purchase a new knock sensor too in case the end is busted off of it too. Besides, it is probably the original one anyway. The code 43 should go away then.
