Whats your good RPM range ?

Ive just got my bird back on the road in time for my wedding, before it would rev to 4K then stop like it hit a brick wall, its had a timing chain + fuel filter but i havnt had the chance to sort any timing issues as my stuipid AIR pipe is over my dizzy hold down bolt and i cant get to it ( AIR system coming off soon ! ) but it dosnt seem bad

It now accelerates round to 5.5K then hits a wall

i seem to remember a 92 i had reving/ pulling much further round ?

what does yours do ? im possibly thinking valve float on old lifters.....

Re: Whats your good RPM range ?

They will hit a wall 4500rpms due to intake manifold/exhaust design. Its a huge bottle neck. 5500rpm is your redline and thats because of valve float. The springs cant handle revving that high. If you want to go higher, you need better springs and open up the intake/exhaust to allow for better breathing.

Re: Whats your good RPM range ?

That was me actually, lol. The big restriction in the intake is when it takes a 135 degree turn from the upper plenum and goes down each runner, it really narrows down. You can see the numbers went up a decent amount just from gasket matching.

itll be interesting to see how bad your intake stomps the stock one into the ground, lol.

Re: Whats your good RPM range ?

thew pizza box kills the stocker and moves peak power up about 1000 rpms, this new intake is adjustable u can swap out the runners at will so u can actually tune were peak power occurs.

iintakes if i go into production with them will come with a 3.5 inch a 4.5 and a 6 inch long runner

Re: Whats your good RPM range ?

I think he's asking if shifing at 6500rpm is just a waste. And yes. You'll probably be faster if you shift earlier. Are you actually making any power up there without valvefloat?!?! What springs are you using?

Re: Whats your good RPM range ?

I find that hard to believe. My 2.8 could hardly heave itself to 5500rpm when it was stock.
