Swap thoughts
Swap thoughts
Im thinking about making a v6-v8 swap to my 88" 2.8L Camaro.
Honestly I dont know that much about swapping and too lazy to read the sticky threads.
I just want to know what the best swap engine is. I really want it to go smoothly and easily as possible so I need an engine that will work good.
Im wondering where I could get a good engine to swap thats the cheapest.
Ive even heard that a 3.8 swap would be good.
Any ideas or suggestions please

Wow... Where to start....
Too lazy to read, but you want to do an engine swap? Yikes.
There is no Best swap. It depends on what you want. What hp level? Daily driver reliable? MPG? Gonna race it? What kind of racing? How often?
Smooth and easy will depend on parts, tools and experience. If you don't have the experience, better have the tools, parts, and some extra cash....
Cheapest swap would probably be the 3.4L from the 4th gen. It's ignored and littering the junk yards. Plus it's a bolt in.
3.8L would be more fun, but requires as many changes as a v8. For that amount of pain, might as well do a v8 in my opinion....

Re: Swap thoughts
What they said, in terms of swapping to an engine that came in our cars factory, the most potent would be the 350 tpi(not counting the TTA), other than that I would go for an ls1, I personally won't go to the trouble of a v8 swap for anything less than an all aluminum lsx. And agree about the 3.8, its as much trouble as a v8 swap, might as well swap a v8...
