Mysterious Shutoff!

Drove my car from Charlotte NC to Norfolk VA this weekend and it did the strangest thing. On the way up I had stopped and got back on the interstate and it just cut off on me. I had to turn the switch off and then turn it back on and it was fine. Also on the way up the voltmeter readings was going crazy. It would drop almost all the way down to 8amps then shoot right back up to 13amps which is 1/2 way. I found that kind of odd so I did some checks and everything read good so I left it alone. While up in VA I was driving it to the gas station to get some gas. Went to start it back up it started and shut right back off again. Did the same thing with the switch and it ran fine with no problems. Just for kicks I changed the ignition module and I haven't had any problems since. I had them check the one I took out and it read the same as a new one (I had them do a comparison when I was at the store). So I kept that one to keep as a spare. When I drove it home I had no problems. The meter was constant the whole way home and never cut off 1 time.

Not sure if anyone else has had this problem just throwing it out there to see if this has happened to anyone else.
