Did 91 grand am's ever come out with a 4.3L?

Grand Am's??? Naw, GM has never used the 4.3 in a FWD car. '91 Grand Ams had all 4 cylinders. This was the engine lineup for a '91 Grand Am....

2.5 litre TBI four, 105hp
2.3 litre Quad 4, 160hp
2.3 litre H.O. Quad 4, 180hp

My dad had a '91 Grand Am 4 door SE with the 180hp Quad 4, and man does that thing scream!!! With 160k miles my cousin has it and it still runs great....I wanna buy it back in another year to use for a winter ride.

I dont know either how you can get a 4 cylinder to make 180 horsies!!! I asked about that because someone at the high school said that his stock 91 grand am had a 4.3L! I told him that I that they never had those in grand am, i even thought that it wouldnt even fit!!

no, Grand Am's never came w/an engine larger then a 3.3 liter v-6, and there are a fe reasons they got 180 hp out of a 4 banger, one is the compresion ratio 10:1, and 2 is the fact it is DOHC. to me it is still amazing that what ricers call AMERICAN crap 4 bangers aren't plauged w/the problems they have, if u see and VTEC car might have high horse power but only a little torque, but Pontiac's 4 bangers all have high HP and torque. Plus i am inpartial to pontiac'a b/c my sister has a 90' 2.0 turbo, and my dad has a 94' leigenfelter 3.1. both of thos cars fly, my dad's car has beaten more rice than i can believe. sorry for rambling on, but to answer ur ? no no Grand Am ever came w/an engine larger than a 3.3 liter
