Air Intake Improvement Idea....

I was thinking that if I could fabricate a hose the right size and length, that I could run two of them from the holes in the front bumper, up to the air filters. That should, theoretically, increase airflow into the intake. I could use a dremel saw to cut away the water guards(they disrupt airflow)...and figure out another way to keep water out, that way when I'm driving down the interstate in a rainstorm, my engine doesn't suck in three gallons of water. Any ideas on a way to make this happen???

I'm sorry to kill your idea but someone already thought of that. Check out tech central and it also has a diagram that shows you how to do it.

Heh, well I don't know if it's killing the idea, it's still a great one. Makes me wish I had a Camaro.. oh well. It took alot more time & planning to rig up my Firebird's intake.

just get a k&n and some 3" pipe and hose clamps, and make yourself a k&n cold air intake system.. better than modifying your stock air box, which is full of restrictions, even after the filters.. take a look in the tech section...

camaro's are great, especially when it comes to modding the airboxes for ram-air. There are a lot of options, i've seen everything from running hose through the grille, romoving the parking lights from the grille and putting hose in there, and also, removing the high-beam headlights for tubing which lead to airfilters, and then to the TB. I only wish firebirds came with that, but hey. I've had a lot of fun toying with ways to create a ram air unit the size of a bail of hay.
