Manifold and Plenum
Manifold and Plenum
I am removing hte plenum, upper and lower then I plan to remove the manifold and valve covers. How do I get hte fuel injecotr rail off so I can take the rest off...
Brian, after you take the top off the plenum there are two bolts(maybe 3)that hold the fuel rail to the lower half. After you relieve the fuel pressure remove the fuel lines by the shrader valve(or whatever the hell it is
)then the fuel line to the cold start injector(if you do it carefully you can move the fuel line up and out of the way). After the bolts are out,the injectors and fuel rail will pull out of the intake as one piece.
It will take a little bit of grunting because the injectors just push into the intake. You may need to pry alittle.

Don't pry too hard... I cracked one of those injector "pintle-caps" by forcing the fuel rail out. In retrospect, I shoulda taken it easy... since it wasn't my motor (a blown 2.8 with a bad wristpin) I didn't care
