10 bolt?
Good enough? I just killed my stock 10-bolt, and all I've got is a 2.8L 2bbl, 700R4, STOCK. Pulled a couple teeth somewhere in the rear recently...
Ugh. Everytime I fix something on my Camaro, something else breaks. It's a vicious cycle.

Dan,
How many miles are on your car? Nothing lasts forever....
My friend had an '85 Monte SS with the 10 bolt, and he beat that thing like crazy, and with 155k miles on it, it was fine when he sold it. Normally, they seem to last fine...

Make sure you change the rear fluid regularly. My old 3.42/open/drum axle lasted me 204,000 miles, with plenty of powerbraking!

Jason,
Don't G-Bodies use the 8.2" - 8.5" 10-bolt? They're a bit stronger than our 7.5" - 7.625" 10-bolts... :-)
I have 147,000 miles on the car, and it had the rear axle serviced properly. Never had a bit of problem with that axle until I managed to remove some of the teeth back there.
Our 10-bolts are pretty weak when you consider what car they're in. GM could have done better!
