Two inches of water in the trunk !!!!!

I know it's not a tech question but I'm a V6 guy. Anyway here is my problem after rainy days, I get a lot of water in the trunk. My weatherstrips are fine. A couple of times, when it rained I tried to see where the water goes in but could't find out.
Any ideas ????

wait till a day when it's gonna rain, then sit in the car during the entire rain storm, you should be able to see something. On my car, I occasionally get water from the very top of the hatch, and my weatherstripping is also fine. Another spot of trouble for me is the passenger side, during strong rain i'll find 2 inches of water lying in that floor dip, in-front of the cat-covert. Haven't had the ***** to sit in the car and see where it's coming from because i know how wet i get if i go through an automatic carwash, i'd hate to do it during a rain storm. oh yeah, and the weatherstriping around the t-tops looks o.k. too, but it's probably worn down but you just can't tell.

If yours has the motorized latch(or not)for your hatch,it may have came loose. In other words the hatch isn't closing very tight. When you shut the hatch instead of the lid tightening the latch assembly could be coming up to meet the hatch.I had this problem, thats how I found my assembly was screwed up.It still is.But some bailing wire and readjusting the assembly fixed that for now.

Go with Kev on this one. Sounds liek a burned out hatch motor. Check the wiring too. MAnually lower it to the bottom, if you can't get it to work any other way, and you'll have to slam it pretty hard to get it to catch, but it's better then standing water (especially if your speaker box is mounted in the hatch like mine is. )

I had a problem with my trunk leaking too. I replaced the weather stripping around the window but it turned out to be the seal between the glass and the hatch "plate"

I agree with Canadian Camaro.. that's happpened to me twice. I used Black Silicone for Weatherstripping (Permatex, $3) to take care of it.
