you're supposed to, especially if it's get cold where you're at. That's why i'm gonna wait till next summer, cause here in Missouri it's 30 degrees today. I think it has something with the TB freezing.
That depends on you.The coolent heats the air as it passes through the tb.They say that if it is cold enough the air could freeze as it enters the intake system.Personaly I don't see that happening to often.
The coolent also helps to warm things up quickly.Kind of like what a heat tube coming off of the exhaust manifold would do.A quicker warm up time.
I'm probably off on this....but if I am.... someone else can step in and explain this.

I've had mine bypassed since the first week I owned my bird, (going into it's third winter with me as a daily driver) and it's never given me a problem. I spend my winters in central IL (windswept frozen hellhole plains) and Chicago (You know how we got Chicago? A bunch of people in New York said "I'm liking the overcrowding and the crime, but it's just not cold enough, let's move west!").
TB bypass is a harmless mod, but actually does a bit to help you out, and only costs $3. No reason to not do it.

Now: rusting on a side street til I get out of college
Plans: BUILT 3.4 motor with B&M racing tranny, Hotchkis suspension all around, lowering 1", Accel ignition all around, Splitfire plugs, 88 front bumper, ASCD Ram Air I hood, 91 GTA spoiler, formula wheels, Firehawk tires, restored interior (first on list)

I agree, once I bypassed my TB, I left it that way. That was 3 years ago. Lately I've been taking my 160 stat out and putting the 195 back in for winter... I hate feeling cold. Anyway there was also the arguement that the TB's butterfly valve could freeze in a mid-throttle position! I'm not sure about that one tho, because the heat from the engine gets up there anyway. I always warm my car up before I start driving, that might help.
