I've got a few questions regarding the motor and tranny mounts for our V6s. I am planning on using poly graphite mounts but:

1. Is there a difference between the V6 and the V8 mount other than location.

2. Ive heard you can swap in a V8 tranny crossmember so you can utilize the cheaper V8 tranny mount. Is this true and will the V8 tranny mount bolt right up to my T5?

hmmm....well my guess, regarding the engine mounts, would be that they wouldn't be in the same place due to the blocks being so different in size.....but i might be wrong.

 

I tried a V8 tranny mount when mine went bad. Yes the V8 crossmember and mount will bolt up. But the V6 mount is designed for the V6 because it absorbs vibration that the V8 mount doesnt. I assume this is becuase the engine mounts are different. When i put the V8 mount on the car vibrated really bad and shook like crazy. I also used a polyurethane one. So I went back to the V6 mount and its fine.
