Ok guys need advice/contacts.

I checked the Swap board and no one seems to list what it takes to swap in a V8 for the V6. I want to do a BASIC swap, yank the 3.1L and drop in a CARB'ed 305/350 and a TH350 tranny. Don't want to mess with the FI and wiring. Does ANYONE know of someone who has done this that is willing to chat about it. I am gonna take pics and do a write up on it for this board. All my other stuff like the engine (3.1L) and parts will go up for sale AFTER i get the new engine in. Anyways i hate asking and posting in the V6 side for info on a V8 swap but unfortunatly i dunno where else to ask... thanks all,

Why don't you drop in a 3.8 Turbo V6? I've seen one done at Englishtown Raceway and this car ran in the mid 10's.

Hehehe, was thinking about the 3.8 but good luck finding one around here. Actually today i ended up taking off and going to the bank, i took a loan out and am now shopping for the 2nd favorite car of my dreams. A 76 to a 78 T/A 6.6 liter. I am holding off till i find one in good to excellant condition and with a standard tranny. I had one when i was in highschool with the 3 speed auto and was tapping off mid 11's on NOS at the dragway in new hampshire. (man life was good in the days of a job and no bills under the parents roof) I will most likely sell my 91 firebird in the next few months and get a truck as i am gonna need a car to hual a engine block and parts. Will post it up here if i do sell it thanks for the advice on the turbo engine....

Hey skip the 305 Idea... Think 350 or larger.. You can get some nice brand new GM 350 with 350HP... Can't beat it plus a 36,000 mile warranty.. Why not a 700R4 from jet with the controls to do lockup so you still get MPG??? I say go for it.. After I get my car into the 14's woth NOS I plan to build a 400 for it with a 6speed
