The latest: Car wont start when hot or warm!!!

Wasted $80 yesterday and i wouldnt have had to spend it if i had know that.

It starts up FINE in morning. Dumps its fuel WHY?) smokes like a bit it goes away.. almost sounds "like i have a fouled plug" kinda drops up and down. then if its even WARM, i can turn the key off, and it will turn over and NOT START BACK UP.

I know i need a tune-up, but DAMN.

Any ideas? And please list the easiest possible fixes/symptoms/solutions, from cheapest/easiest to most expensive/worst.

Someone told me to replace fuel filter, but then how could it be DUMPING fuel on start-up if flow was blocked? (And where IS my fuel filter, anyway? Is it something i can do myself or do i need to call someone?)

Next up: A "What i need to change my own spark plugs" question.

Is your camaro a 2.8l carb'ed? If so the filter is at the fuel inlet on the carb. Check all underhood vacuum hoses for cracks, make sure the carb mounting bolts are tight. You could have carb problems, possibly choke pull-off is bad or internal leaks. I think those have a mixture control solenoid in the carb, you may need to check the coolant temp sensor too.
Spark plugs are easy to change, check the wires, cap, & rotor too.

You'll need some good flare nut (line) wrenches, remove the air cleaner housing & follow the fuel line that runs up from the fuel pump(dr. side) to the carb. The line screws into the carb, unhook that line, then the filter housing can be removed. The filter should go in one way so watch the the way it comes out. The fuel line can be a challenge to seperate as it snakes around the carb.
