after putting in new headgaskets my bird was not running as good as before, no power, no speed,I set the timing on 20° and it was much better, but I have this high emission and high fuel usage.

Since advancing the timing helped, maybe the distributor's 180 degrees off? #1 cylinder is the frontmost passenger side- usually it's the frontmost left side.
Could the heads need to be re-torqued?

would the motor run with the distributer 180°off?
it's 20° in advance and runs pretty good, but I smell this unburned gas comming out of the exhaust.
The torque is 91 lbs, do I have to retorque it anyway?

hrmm yes a motor would run 180 out, ive done it before, but it will barely idle muchless be driveable.. double and triple recheck your firing order.. do a quick compression check too.. how does the engine idle, rough at all? backfiring? etc..
