MSD GM Blaster Coil

Just wanted to thank everyone for helping me pick what coil to install and answering all of my dumb questions. I really thank all of you. Its nice to have some help sometimes in this world that is being taken over my foreign cars.

hey..kool u got it.

oh btw...on the plugs and wires route, go the rapidfires which u gap urself to overgap for the coil, and wires id go 8.8 accel which are already crimped etc..

Never gaped plugs before how hard is it and what do I want to gap them to?

It's not hard, I think the Haynes 82-92 Camaro/Firebird manual (any parts store, $15) shows how to do it. Just don't get the cheap $1 key-chain type "disc" to gap your plugs, it's not accurate. Find the $5 ones with swing-out wire gauges; that's what you want. They're in the tool section of any auto store...

well..i have the msd 6a and coil so im thinking for my car somewhere in the range of .055..if i were u id go .050

I'm with Graeme- When I "just" had the Accel Supercoil, I tried overgapping. I went from 0.045 to 0.050, to 0.055, and back to 0.050. The 0.050" gap gave me a small boost in power. The 0.55 made the car noticably slower; I imagine it was too much of a gap for the spark to jump. I also had more of a gas smell at idle. I went back to 0.050 and noticed an improvement again.

I suppose I should re-experiment now that I have the 6AL box.

Tell me how it goes over gapping them to .55 Also What is the MAX i can advance my timeing??? im at 12degrees right now.. Also if i can advance it more would it help anything
