Aftermarket V6 parts for non-Fbodies?
I might be buying an '01 Grand Am GT with the Ram Air 3.4 in the next 6-9 months or so from work, and I was curious if any of you knew of any good sources for FWD performance parts? All I have found so far is an SLP stainless exhaust for $300.
Don't flame me guys...help!
For all of you who may be wondering why I don't spend the $$ on a 4th gen, its because all I can afford for a new 4th gen is a 3.8 (I refuse to buy one used...I won't spend $15+k on a used LS1...could be a car that may have been beat to hell for a couple years), and I have no interest in one at all. Plus, I don't really like the way the new Firebirds look either (We sell Pontiac and Olds, hence why I can't get a Chevy).
Anybody have any opinions on what I should get?

I would look at 99 Grand Prix 3800 Spuper Charged cars.. If you are lucky you can get one owned by someone like my mother a 99 (bought 98) with less than 12,000 on it... Why not it has HUD and flies....
I really like the new Gran Ams and Grand Prix's. In my opinion they are 2 of the best looking cars out there. I prefer the Grand Prix GTP myself, but just get what ya like!

FastRS, was it a 4 banger?? I drove an '01 GA GT and got into a 4 banger GA afterwards, and I felt like I had the parking brake on!! I can attest to the fact a GA GT handles as well as (if not better than) A GP GTP.
So here's the deal. Because I wanna be able to keep my car, I can't swing a new car anyways...so a '98 or '99 at auction is what I'll end up with. I can get a '99 GA GT at auction for about $11,500, and a '98 GTP for about $13,000....either one with under 30k miles and with power everything....DIRT cheap
The GA GT I like because it's smaller, has the cache of Ram Air, and I like the sinister look of the GT model, inside and out. Plus, the 3.4 pulls real nice!
I am very familar with the GPs...my mom had a '98 GP GT she just traded for an '01 GP GT. The issues I have with the GTPs are that they get sh*t gas mileage (I drive 300+ miles a week), are a little on the big side, and I don't know if I trust a blower or not...just 1 more thing to go wrong, and not a cheap thing either!! But I do agree, while the GTPs aren't quite as nasty looking, they are smoother looking.
Any other comments, opinions about either car?? Help me guys!

RK Sport might have something... not sure though. There also used to be a joint called Clifford Performance out in California that handled I-4 and V-6 FWD motors. I think they have an advertisement in the back of Hot Rod Magazine.

Thanks Tom!! I completely forgot about RKSport!
Aren't they sorta more for ***** body kits and stuff though? I'll look into it regardless. Anyone else with ideas?
