Gonna change the spark plugs today, got my wrench, need ? Socket? And HOW DO I! w ACD
elco plugs.
OK, im going to do it!! A couple questions:
1) Do i take plugs out of a hot motor? (No, right?)
2) Socket size? Best "Extension?"
3) AC Delco plugs, ok, i got that. Single platinum, or just copper ?
4) I did this one other time, i know you "do it one wire at a time" to not mess that up. Might not have wire $ today that might be two weeks from now. I will just "not pull on them."
5) Grease, or no grease?????????????????
6) Ive never done this before
7) I CAN do this today, if i know the socket, how to, and buy the plug. Then ill be checkin gthis thread.... (it will also tell me WTH is happening in my engine, the plugs will.)
Thanks! - 84Camaro, beautiful Sunny day, my car is my love, thank you.
My wires, 8mm.. if i have "Tool and plug $" but not "Wires$" as will most likely be the case.

1. No, don't change plugs when the engine is hot. You could overtorque them and need a bear or gorilla to get them out again.
2. 5/8" plug socket with a 6" extension and possibly a u-joint for the #1 plug under the alternator bracket and emissions garbage.
3. Delco R42TS plugs, no platinum (about $2 a piece). You're not running aluminum heads.
4. Be very careful pulling the boots off. If you have cheap wires, you'll leave the terminals on the plugs and have to slide the difficult to move boot up the wire to crimp the terminal back on (if you don't break the terminal opening it back up again).
5. DO NOT APPLY ANYTHING TO THE PLUGS BEFORE INSTALLING THEM. What you think may be anti-seize becomes glue under the temperatures and pressures of combustion, and it NEVER comes out all the way.
6. Be prepared to skin a couple of knuckles on the brackets and stuff. Ouch.
7. Your 8mm wires are already an upgrade from those wires that most of us have, 7mm... May want to get a multimeter handy and remove the wire from the dizzy as well as the plug and perform a resistance test on it... Any wire more than 20K ohms needs to be placed in the circular file...

It's not what they look like, it's how black they're going to be... They're either going to be gray or so black it makes a black hole look like a light bulb...
