Most people prefer the TransGo shift kit for the 700r4. It supposedly comes with more parts, works better, and makes the trans last longer than the B&M Shift Improver Kit.

The TransGo kit runs about $130, the B&M runs $30. Don't bother with a B&M TransPak, it's the same as the B&M Shift Improver Kit, but they charge you an extra $25 for a new filter. (You can get a new filter locally for $15.)

I've installed both the B&M Shift Improver Kit, and the B&M 4-3 Kickdown kit, into my transmission myself. The kits weren't complicated, although there's a few tricks to speed up installation that I can give you- IF you decide to do it yourself. You can examine the B&M Transpak (remember- same as $30 shift improver kit!) instructions at the B&M website, http://www.bmracing.com .

I don't know what the TransGo shift kit entails. You can re-ask this on the Transmission & Drivetrain section for more opinions, too.
