broken piece

When upgrading to an msd coil I accidently broke off this thin hard plastic hose running right beside it from one control-type thing to another. I have no idea what it is for though. Anyone know what its for and if I need to replace it?

Sounds like one of the EGR hoses, or the hose leading to the fuel pressure regulator (under the center of your "plenum"- the spider-like intake on the top of your motor).

FASTRS has the right fix- splice the two pieces together with a piece of "windshield washer/vacuum hose". You can buy a foot of it for $0.50 or so.

I just replaced all my rigid plastic vaccum lines with common flexible vaccum hoses but I think I may have a line crossed or something because the car doesn't idle right..... Maybe the TPS wiring harness though (I'm having troubles finding one in the scrapyard)

Anyways what I'm trying to say is that it might be worth wile scrapping the rigid plastic and going flexible.
