What should i do
I bought a 86 camaro v6 and every thing is stock. I dont know where i should start to increase hoursepower and loose weight. I want to start from the cheapest to most costly along with inside out. Im thinking of drop a new motor what should i do?
My real reason is i want to beat this mustang 5.0

Tune-up first...then look at people's signatures for ideas. During the tune-up, use high performance stuff, like Accel 8.8 wires, and a high output coil. Might want to change to a higher powered ignition module too. Then Exhaust. Go for Dynomax, unless you have a preference. A Catback system will run you 150 and is EZ to install yourself. Do all this the same day and you'll feel like you're driving a TOTALLY different car....hehe, i did.

Overclk's 100% right, the first mod should be your major tuneup. (Not a garage station's tuneup!) This way you "restore" your motor to it's best running condition, and you also learn a bit, too. Here's my major tuneup list, click on it:

yeah, if u check tom p's list he'll be giving you the best info for ur money, he's probably the most knowledgable person on this board, you could also look into a K&N drop in filter, or you could devise a filter/ cold-air setup, (more difficult)upgrade a lot of your parts to performance ones, get sp,e mew 8.8mm wires, a new set of spark plugs, and possibly a performance coil, all of these should really help the car, after the performance coil,ou should also be able to overgap your plugs slightly, but we can get into that later. oH, and welcome to the webboard
p.s.
on this board we never use the name *ustang, instead it's called a Rustang 5.slow , just a tip.

I dont know about you guys but I think its funny "5.0" rustangs are actually 4.9 liters. A 302 ci engine converts to 4.94889333 liters
