loud squeeling sounds!!

ok, i just replaced my alternator and i'm getting this loud ear piercing squeeling sound from one of the pully's the belt goes around, or its either the belt itself, i put everything back on the way it was but when i fire my car up and take a look at the belt its kinda flapin around, not to much though and i tightened everything, i'm clueless here.

Try using a belt condition (Belt Grip) spray on the belts. It really helps them stick.

double check the belt is on right.. how dead was your battery? it could just be from all the extra load on the alternator.. if thats the case charge the batter with a charger.. a near dead battery takes a lot of life off a alternator..

another thing, if the noise wasn't there before you had the new alternator in.
Did you change the pulley from your old alternator to the new, because the new one might be smaller and could cut your 5 string
belt after a while, check the pulleys if they are same size tho the belt fits correctly.
let us know the results.
