Heh.. more people that don't search old posts.. https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/...ML/000291.html

According to that article it's a leaf blower gone supercharger.. leaf blowers certainly put out alot more air than heater blowers.. actually it's almost a decent idea =P but it's still not enough for high rpm operation.. I dunno.. how many amps do leaf blowers draw? I'm almost willing to try a twin-decker with a one-way valve bypass as explained in an earlier post... heck, I think I'm going to start doing some research on this note.. I'm sure 4-5 psi would be possible this way at low-mid rpm... with a pair you might even maintain boost all the way to high rpms.. if only 2 psi, it's still boost.. maybe more.. not sure of the flow specs on leaf blowers.. I'm going to dig around and find the best flowing electric fans I can.. I'll post when I come up with something.

yes, i knew it was to good to go away, i loved these posted back in the day, when everyone was talking about the "poor man's way into a turbo-charged world" actually, the idea is still decent, but the problem was that the deckercharger couldn't condesne or compress the air (something like that) which wouldn't accomplish any boost, but it could blow in a heck of a lot more air, that you car is just sucking in.

Actually, that's what I'm working on right now.. and the other problem being current draw.. found a weed eater blower that flows 400 CFM.. unfortunatly the bastard draws 12 amps of 110.. I'm gonna hunt a few yard sales and see if I can grab a cheap one and find a way to swap the motor out.. if I can find an inverter that will sustain a 24 amp draw there's a possibility too.. I'm sure a pair of these 400's could actually achive compression with minor modification to the housing or blades... and 800 cfm alone is a heck of alot more air than our little 6's are drawing. If you think about it, any leaf blower is producing some amount of compression.. it's just a matter of it being more air than our cars are intaking. I'm not done yet.. got more hardware stores and websites to scour in search of the ultimate leaf blower.. (note, those 400 cfm blowers are only 50 bucks each..), also, with a quad scoop ram air setup (I'll get drawings of this silliness up sometime), it would be possible to give the blowers a compressed source at high speeds (thus MORE BOOST!! WHEE) sorry.. I'm getting really into this idea. More ramblings when I come across another revalation. Also, my one way valve idea has come to a serious easy possibility.. I'll get tech drawings of that up when possible.
