Tired 2.8L

Hey guys, I got my bird about a year ago with 217k on it all stock and no major work(so i was told, later i went to put in a Tech chip and found she already hade one). Now at 240k the engine ticks and makes other noises that come and go and its been getting worse along with a rough idle. Should i try to salvage this engine or build a new one.

MY suggestion is find a 2.8 block (they're CHEAP @ junkyards) and build it up on a stan w/ camshaft and have the heads done and all that. Then drop it in one weekend. It's what I might still do if I dont' sell out.

Do what I did, swap in a 3.4 long block!
I paid $800 for a running 40K block, swapped all stuff back & forth.
It pulls like a freight train & the smog police will not be any wiser!
I'll give ya a number in LA for a wrecking yard that has 3 left.
Call 323-587-3144 SoCal Auto Wrecking
Ask for MARTY, tell him Karl with the swapped 3.4 in a Firebird sent ya.
I've told him to expect calls from you guys here.
SWAP IT, WON'T REGRET IT!!!
