I need to find a V-6 Tach circuit board in the wrecking yards.

Will I see more Camaros with V6's & tach dashes or Firebirds with V-6 & tach dashes in the yards?

Was there a dash design change on these 3rd gen cars? Thanks!

From what i know and have experianced is that the dashes in the eariller 82 to 85 dashes are all the same but some t/a's in 85 and on had all electronic dashes. Your best bet is off an 82 to 85 firebird.

I've got the gauge package, but all of them are electronically controlled. Analog gauges though. Mine's and 88 Firebird, BTW.

Hey all tachs, for these cars are electric!
I've got a mechaincal tach on my 1974 Corvette.
But my 1967 RS/SS Camaro has Electric factory tach.
Even tho I have a 350, it's a big block tach, a higher red line. I found a another 1967 Camaro, built 3 weeks before mine & same plant (Norwood, Ohio) it also has a Big Block tach.
In that time period (Winter/Spring 1967), that's when they released the 396 Camaro to the world. Some of the line cars, just got those parts, that's all.
Does your 1988 have the 4 hole gauge dash, too? Is the pattern on the gauge face background, 1/4" squares?

I'm not so sure the dash itself changed, but the speedo's a digital one, even though it has a needle. It wouldn't have a yellow box behind the speedo.. that box was moved to the trans itself, eliminating the speedo cable.

Oh wait didn't we cover this in another message already? Nevermind!

Actually, I JUST SCORED ONE!!!!!!!!
$18 for the gauge package & the 4 hole dash piece.
And it's a 6-er!!!!!! I literally ripped it outta the car, plastic was so old it was easy!
Spent about 10 minutes cutting the wiring harness with a piece of glass I found on the ground
I'm stripping it right now, as I type!!
So excited.
May be stripping gauge sending units from my S-10 Blazer before I send it to the crusher for $$$$. I hear I can get $1,000 for it.

I do NOT want to crush my Belle Blazer!!!
