Speed Now or Work Later?
Speed Now or Work Later?
Actually, that should be or "LESS work later."
Everyone knows aftermarket cams are great for drop-in power. Everyone knows that a blower is even better for drop-in power. Little known fact: an aftermarket cam that gives more power on an n/a engine will actually hurt the efficiency if not damage the engine of a super/turbocharged engine.
I'm doing some serious buildup at the end of this summer, and was wondering people's opinions on whether I should put a cam in then, and have to swap it back out for the stock cam later, effectively doubling or trippling the work I'd have to do, or just leave in the stock cam and get the blower rigged up faster next spring?

If you're SERIOUS about getting a blower, then I'd stay w/ a stock cam or one modified for a blower. If it's a Maybe sort of thing, go with a modified cam, in case you change your mind. That way, you already have a good cam in there, and you won't have to retear down the motor and put one in.
