This past december my Camaro formed a rod knock... My aunt bought the car new in 1992, she didnt change the oil when she should have. I started taking the car over in 1995 when she got a DUI. I changed the oil every 3 months and all, i started driving it alot since she couldnt. Her b/f's car had a blown head gasket, so she put the car in his name so he could drive it untill he got it fixed (she didnt have money to keep it registered) My aunt died this past christmas eve in the hospital. In febuary her b/f pulled me aside and told me that he though she would have wanted me to have the car, so I gladly took back my little baby, that is now in the machine shop having the engine rebuilt. she has 87,000 miles and already has a rod knock. Well, she will be back on the road thursday or friday, and will be on the road for as long as i am around =)

 

Excellent founding story. Sorry, nothing to contribute technically, but I like hearing the sentimental things behind people's F-bods.
