Power steering went out...

... on the way to work today. Stopped for gas, shut car off, started her back up, and suddenly must-apply-force-of-death-at-anything-under-55mph.

What do I check when I get out of work ('86 2.8 V6)? Parking this thing is a ##$@#...

check and see if theres a belt still there...mine decided to bust one day and tie itself around a bunch of things..

Transmission: CAMARO 700R4 FIREBIRD TH-400
Check the belt also check the fluid. I went through 3 of them the second one i had i scored the baareings and when id accelerate it seriousley sounded like a supercharger under the hood it was sweet til one day i was doin 70 in a 55 zone and hit a turn and it decided to die it sucked.....

Thanks guys. Turned out to be a hose, driver's side. I think I can cut the torn part off and re-attach.

Glad my pump still works. Was afraid about what would happen - ran it dry for a while.
