2.8 w/128k .... Time to change injectors?

2.8 w/128k .... Time to change injectors?

I imagine these things werent designed to last for ever... so when is a good time to swap out those puppies? How can i tell if there going bad?

Hmm, I guess you could spend the cash and get new ones, or have them cleaned. If not, I wouldn't fix it till it breaks (well, when I had the 89 I didn't have much $, so that is where that comes from).

Just clean them by injecting 3m injector cleaner in the rail(kit needed)

I sent mine out to Rich J at http://www.cruzinperformance.com - he cleaned & flow-tested all 6 of my injectors, for the price of a new one! Talk about a great deal! He's really helpful, too. I had around 208,000 miles on my 2.8 when I had those cleaned, and it made one heck of a difference.

Okay, well, technically I didn't have my 208k injectors cleaned. I had a spare set, out of an '87 2.8, with unknown mileage on it. I sent him the spare set so I could keep driving in the meantime. I plan one day to send him those 208k mile injectors, just to see how dirty they were- and then I'd have a spare "clean" set!
