Spark Plugs....How do you...

How in the world do you get the passenger side plugs out on a 91 3.1 RS? Especially the front one. I haven't tried yet but it looks extremely difficult. My mechanic said he can't get me in for 2 wks and I have a miss that I can't stand anymore. Thought I'd change the plugs and such. So how do you get those on the passenger side out?

I bought a lil thing that looks like a T with a swivel socket on the end. It's still a B*TCH tho.

If ya got a miss, open the hood at night time to see if yo have cross wire action going on. It'll look like a lightening storm.
Then change plug wires, one at a time.
Plugs are ok to do. Do it when they are ice cold! One plug & plug wire at a time. Put anit-seize on the threads. I've been 60* V-6 plugs for over 10 years (had my 85 Blazer since 1989). No easier tip, then plan for the next time you do them!

GM wasn't THAT dumb. I use an aextension and my ratchet, no swivel needed. For the front one on the passenger side (easiest of all), check out the alternator bracket, and you'll notice there are holes cut in it perfect size and angle to slip an extension with a plug socket on the end. I was very impressed when I noticed they did it that smart.

I think I understand why many of ya may have this problem.
You do not have a variety of 3/8" socket extensions. You need a variety of lengths of extensions to get this simple job done. No need for fancy tricks, honest. Extra variety of extensions is all ya need. Go to Sears, they are $20 or so. When you install it, do it by hand, to seat, then by socket, to tighten.
No need to make anymore difficult. Try do this on an early S-10. I have AIR tubes to deal with. YEECHK.

I have a double offset-flex head rachet for the bad ones. Most of the time all you need is a few 3/8 extensions and some brain power.

KED, on my 4.3 blazer I have to use a 24" ext and go through the fenderwell on the back 2. They put a rubber flap that folds out of the way and it's a straight shot. Might be helpful for next time.

Well, I got them changed, no major problems. It just took some time to get that first one. I used an extension and went through the hole in the bracket. I used a wire to lift the socket to the correct angle and in it went. I used Bosch Platinum +4's and the miss is gone and the car is running better then ever. The weird thing is that every single plug appeared to be fine. Thanks for all the tips. It was a fairly easy job.

Wow, glad I don't have these troubles... I hit all my plugs with my ratchet, 7 inch extension, and a spark plug socket.
