Stalling problem
Over the past couple of weeks I've noticed a problem with my car. It has a tendancy to stall when the gas is un-applied. Mostly in corners (not very quicky either) but sometimes if I let off going in a straight line it will as well. This seems to happen no matter the amount of fuel in the car (full or empty). It always will restart, though it takes a lot of cranking and applying the gas pedal. Fuel pump perhaps...???

Float level in the carb.
IT's real common. My S-10 Blazer does that, too.
My friend attempted to correct, got close, but NOPE.
It could be time for a total overhaul including the throttle base plate shaft. New bushings & stuff down there.

Ked85 hate ta tell yea this but his is a 2.8 which means fuel intected no floats just pumps and injectors. It could very well be dirty injectors or the maf sensor I noticed that mine would try to stall at lights or sitting without applying gas
and when it did die it would be very hard to restart turned out to be the maf
but it might very well be your pump also
no telling the card **** is easier to trace the prob :-(

Actually until 85, they were carb'd (as is my car) so he would/could be right...

Michael,
I BELIEVE the vehicle you are thinkng/referring to is the V-6's in the S-10 Blazers.
THOSE engines have the TBI after 1985 (starting in 1986). Then the Blazer engine went to the 4.3 size, same TBI idea, tho.
Our F-bodies had the MPFI starting in 1985 to the 1992 year.
I've had my butt handed to me also.
Won't be the last time, either.
I always hope to keep learning, or else, cover my bones, I'm dead.
My friend, removed the top of the carb (several torx screws) and apparently raised it.
For my Blazer, it worked, but on left turns it may stall. Like I said, it really needs agood overhaul, including the throttle plate shaft. Find a real good shop, if you really wnat to keep the vehicle.
In LA area, rebuilds like this go for about $120 - $200 (carb only!), because it's a lot of the right work. Take the vehicle to them, let them remove it from the car. That way, they will be responsible for all proper re-adjustment. That detail is in your favor. ALOT of crap on those engines, hoses ready to break, etc. Let if fall on their shoulders.
