I dont have any pics, but I am sure this will help you.

Do you know where the radiator is? If yes, proceeds, if not, oh well. Anywho, on the upper right hand side of the radiator, there is a tube that carries the antifreeze. Just follow it to where it enters the engine. And there it is. It is under a iron housing. Its hard to see on our cars, but on like older cars it is plain as day. I sure hope I helped you some.

Just remove the hose from the housing.
You'll loose so little, no need for concern.

you don't have a MAF to remove. and you don't HAVE to remove the throttle body. it can be done although it will be a 'lil time consuming.

You will probably spend more time trying to avoid taking off the tb then you would just removing it. It's noy very hard at all to remove.

The bolts are 13mm, if you have no metric's a 1/2" socket might work well enough.

A 180 is better for a V6 or V8. 160's run to cool and makes your ecm think that its cold out or somthin like that anyways it makes ya eat gas, and in the winter there is absolutly no heat in the car at all

The ecm is happier with a 180 than it is with a 160. The 160 makes the eprom think it is in "start up" mode, which wastes gas.

People think that it makes their cars "peppier", but in fact it is just giving a larger "pump shot" when you boot it. After that, you are running too rich. The stock GM memcal is too rich as it is and the last thing you need is more fuel for max performance.

I (and others) have found that an overly rich mixture seems to induce "knock retard" which kills performance. When "knock retard" occurs (and you won't hear it if the knock sensor is doing it's job), it pulls far too much spark retard out of the ecm so you end up with less effective spark advance. This often occurs when you advance your "base timing" above the stock setting. You may have added 2* of spark advance, but the ecm pulls 4* away, leaving you with 2* less effective spark advance...and a slower car.

I run a 160 in the summer, and a 195 in the winter. My temp gauge in the summer always shows around 180-190.

The 85-89 2.8 MAF V6's don't have knock sensors. I'm not sure about the 90-92 SD 3.1's.

Glenn, my '86 GM book says that for closed loop operation to occur, the engine must be running for a few minutes, coolant temp must be above 75 degrees, and there must be a changing value from the oxy sensor (hot exhaust). I'd tend to believe the GM book, but you've had your hands in the prom itself- is there any truth to this?
