timing on 93 2.8?
my cars idleing really really low, i mean its bad enough that when i put my car in drive or reverse it wants to die, i barley have to to touch the pedal. well while reading i heard that timing needs to be set at 10*btdc with the EST wire disconnected? so i need to know if this is true on a v6 and what i need to do, please help!!!

Re: timing on 93 2.8?
Just try moving the dizzy cap a little bit in each direction and see if it gets any better, but that won't really affect idle speed, chances are its something else, that being said it could just be par for the course, my car idles just above stalling out as well, but mines also built up and I've still not ran it without at least 1 small issue, so hard to say.
Easiest thing to try/check is to clean out the throttle body and IAC passage, could also be caused by a vacuum leak. Biggest question is how does it sound off idle and during a rev?
Last but not least there is no such thing as a 93 2.8, 93 is the start of the 4th gens, and none of them had 2.8s, and I believe GM wasn't still using 2.8s by then in any vehicle, though I may be wrong if the s10 or some such was, but even the thirdgens stopped using it in later years and switched to 3.1s.
