Common Questions About A Car's Suspension
Two questions about car suspensions crop up frequently: Do all cars have shocks and struts? And, what is the difference between shocks and struts?
First, not all vehicles have both shocks and struts. Some vehicles have only struts; others have only shocks. Shocks are just one part of the overall suspension assembly; a strut is a complete suspension assembly that replaces the upper ball joint, shock, and spring with one unit.

Past Thirdgen:
86 Trans Am w/ built 355TPI with SLP goodies and too much other stuff to List. One sweet *** car, wish I would have had a good enough Job to pay insurance on three cars so I could keep it, but for a 89 Turbo Trans Am w/ Low miles, I think I made the right choice!

It is also one topic we always over look in the quest for speed. If we build are cars to corner right you gain speed asa result. Subframe connectors and a new torque arm and LCA's won't slow ya down at all... A good example is so slows v6. Stock with drag radials he picked his time up in the 1/4... Nothing drastic, but the traction difference helps. 2/10th is 2/10ths and when it comes to our cars it all adds up.....
reducing your 60' times is the most important thing you can do to get a better 1/4 time and trap speed. Practice will make you better to, and knowing how to throttle your car out of the hole. THough you are right LCA'c and other things can only help!

"

true, true.
if you look at an older pickup truck(from any manufacturer) you'll see that most of them have Torsion Bars instead of springs. the cool thing about these is you can lower or raise the front by adjusting the torsion bars.
