transmission mounts
can i replace the transmission mounts on a 700R4 by just raising it, or do i have to take it out of the car? any other details about doing it would be appreciated
It tends to be a real greasy mission.
Undo the one or two main bolts. Get the rest with an open end wrench. Lower the tranny, finish it up! Put a piece of wood under the tranny pan for safety.
USE FLOOR JACK STANDS

My tranny mount broke off, but there was just enough left on it to put a nut on, and weld it on. But I don;t know how long it will last.
I help a friend change a mount in his Firebird. We just jacked it up, and did what Ked was talking about. Its a greasy mess thought so have fun
Good luck on changing the mount,
