Could this be causing my problem?
I was pulling the intake today to look for the vacuum leak, and i noticed hey my EGR isnt all the way on...i tried tightening it but the bolt hole is stripped. Could this be causing my stalling and none-idline condition? After this its going to paradise chevy by me to get the speedo done, all the emissions hoses and egr controller replaced, get a new MAF system and TPS, then more...so i need it to make about a 30 minute drive on the freeway. I know the emissions is causing some of the problem, but could this be causing the non-driving problem? help me!

That would surely be a suspect. When my EGR gasket went my Bird would barely idle and stall at lights all the time.
If the hole is stripped then you might want to use a clamp or something (duct tape
)to try to seal the leak and see if that solves the problem. When my gasket went, all I had to do was lean on the EGR and the engine would perk right up and return to normal.
Just a thought

I like the clamp idea better, but you could also wrap a ton of steel utility wire around the thing for diagnosis.
What side is the EGR stripped on? The EGR-valve-to-manifold side, or the EGR-valve-to-EGR-tube side, or the EGR-tube-to-TB side?
Usually an exhaust leak by the oxygen sensor will confuse the car... fresh air sneaks into the exhaust, and causes the oxygen sensor to sense a lean (or is it rich?) condition, so the computer compensates- and the engine runs poorly. This might be doing the same thing.

Cheat
Use a stainless steel paper clip in the thread, as you bolt it down. BE surprised, it works!
If one thickness doesn't catch, try a thinner or thicker.
I'll bet you have several at home to try, before you try something else.
IT does work!

Tom, your response was just to get 4100 posts!!!
Someone turned me onto that trick so long ago!
I think back when I was working on our old Corvettes and the fiberglass holes, just plain ole wore out.
It really does work, sometimes!!!
I've even used this idea on suspension threads and it has held.
If it's to, to thick, try pounding it with a hammer, to try and flatten it out.
It may work!
YET, did see several 60* V-6s in the yards on Tues.
Pick a Part & U Pick Ur Part
