OK i'm at a loss. I've replaced basically my whole front suspension, had numerous front end alignments, got new tires and the front end hums like a truck with mud tires on it. I can barely hear my radio when i drive down the interstate doing 75. Do you guys know of anything it could be? Any help would be great.

Could it be the tie rods? Struts? Anyone got any ideas?

 

I was thinking maybe wheel bearings but if they are bad it should of have been discovered in the front end alignment.
One way to check w/o removing the wheel is to jack the front end up and grab the wheel by the top and bottom and wiggle it to see how much play there is.

The thing that will create the most "humming" noise in the front is the tire tread pattern. If the treads are gapped far apart its noisy.

 

He got 235 60's for his tires.. I have 235 60 good years and love them... Could it be the fact he bought cheap tires or are they truck tires???

 

I have 235-60's with NO hum unless I'm on blacktop and weaving.....

 

What type of tires do you have? And what is the tread rating ?

 

The tires i have are Cooper Cobra GTH. The treadware is 400, traction is A. These tires aren't like a 20 Continetal tire..

Can you take the tires back and complain how loud they are and try for a new set? Have your tried switching the front to the back to see if it is still loud. My mother hada acar that had the belts inside moving and really made her tires wear weird and act weird.. I am not sure of the sound thing..

Did it hum before the tire change or not?

Out in LA, you hit a "type" of pavement & you know it's that pavement, as it goes away when you change road surfaces.
