Remember my Thud?

Remember my Thud I was complaining about? The whole reason that I changed out my rear shocks and springs....well, it was caused by the axle stops being broken. Now my ?...where can I buy these?

Have a pic?
Can they be welded?
Can those "stops" be replaced by Poly pieces?
Sounds like a "Bump Stop" on front suspension A-Arms?

As far as i know, you can get them from the dealer. I would think urathane bump stops would defeat the purpose of the stops to absorbe suspension bottom out. If the bump stops hit too much after you get them in, just cut them down. Payce.

I didn't think the suspension stops were there to provide absorbtion; I thought they were there to stop the suspension before the tire hit the car.

Of course you might as well get the cheaper (cheaper from GM? Hm, maybe not! ) rubber stops, since sharp-looking bright-red poly snubbers would be hard to see.

Well, its takin the hit for otherwise metal to metal contact. You kinda want a cushon as to cut the chassis a break.

The stops prevent over-travel; you could make them out of anything you want, even steel I guess, but as long as they keep the tire from ripping into the body, they're doing their job.
