4" intake side with a heat shield etc on it... any ideas on these? for 20 bucks..cant really go wrong

When I was looking for my K&N Conical I was at IMport shops and noticed several types of conicals and a few looked like that.. If it is reusable and it flows more than paper it could look cool...

 

I would buy it for what it seas it is, because it's still gona suck in hot air from the top.

 

Ractive's a good name, if you guys are wondering about the company.. they're an import company. With the heat shield, tho, you're only getting air from the front of the filter. A regular open conical can suck air from anywhere... something to keep in mind, but I'm going to show my import-driving friend that auction- that's a good price.

I wonder if it would be easier to hook something up to ram air into it with that heat shield on it?

86 Trans Am w/ built 355TPI with SLP goodies and too much other stuff to List. One sweet *** car, wish I would have had a good enough Job to pay insurance on three cars so I could keep it, but for a 89 Turbo Trans Am w/ Low miles, I think I made the right choice!

 

i was wondering the same..they even said connect it to a ram air intake right on the auction listing.

Well you could get some rubber type turbo hose connectors and hook it to the front of the filter cone and the 3 inch hose supposing thats what your using for the ram air tube. That will provide a tight(air tight) seal and still be semi flexible to deal with engine vibrations.
