cat to intermediate pipe flange bolts?
cat to intermediate pipe flange bolts?
So I'm doing exhaust work and cut the old stuff off. I go to bolt up the new cat and intermediate pipe and realize i had cut the old bolts, and there were no new bolts.
Anyone know the size of these bolts? I suppose its not all that important though.
It's an 85 2.8l.
Also, another question. I've found listed on lots of parts catalogs a set of bolts and springs for somewhere on the exhaust. Where would these go? The manifolds I've got have studs (which of course broke.)

Re: cat to intermediate pipe flange bolts?
The bolts that connect the intermediate pipe flange to the cat on the 85-89 2.8 V6 are listed as Hex M10x1.5x50. Should be able to find them in any parts store. The bolts and springs listed on Rockauto's site are for connecting a new cross over pipe to the manifold.

Re: cat to intermediate pipe flange bolts?
Just get a pair of bolts with locking washers that fit and get it done. The bolts with springs are meant for the manifold flanges and DO NOT fit (tried them) on our manifold flanges.
Re: cat to intermediate pipe flange bolts?
ok cool. yeah i have the new studs for the manifolds already, bolts would be way easier to work with but if they don't fit no need. wonder why they're listed.

Re: cat to intermediate pipe flange bolts?
The manifolds can use bolts, but not the ones with the springs, since they have a step on them at the end of the threads that catches on the flange before they even reach the manifold hole.
I don't know why they list the bolts with the springs, but I do know they fit on the FWD engines...
