1992 Firebird Tranny Swap

I have heard of a people doing this. Changing from a auto to a manual. Is it really worth the swap and do I just go to a auto yard and find one in good condition. How hard is it really to do? What sort of gains could I expect from doing this sort of swap?? What would a good manual tranny cost? Thanks for any info or advice anyone could offer.

Do a search, about 2 weeks ago i told someone how to do it start to finish... personally, i would have liked to try a higher stall convertor before doing this...
