Stall Converter

ok, I have an 89 firebird with the 2.8 and it is way too slow! or at least it was before the tranny went out, so I'm rebuilding it and putting a shift kit in it. I also wanted to put a higher stall converter in it while I was at it. Any reccomendations?
THe only performance parts are accel cap rotor coil and wirs and bosch +4 plugs, and it's got dynomax exhaust. Any other suggestions would be great too thanks...

I was thinking something a little more mild, it's just my economy car I have a camaro to go fast, I'm just tired of flooring it all the time just to get it to move...

I wish I was, I've never driven any other v6 f-bodies, but I don't think this thing should be this slow.
