The air tube on my cat what dose it do??

It's for connecting to the smog pump. I don't think your camaro has a smog pump that connects to the converter (or one at all). Just close it off if that is the case. The purpose is to heat up the converter when it is cold so it can start reducing emissions quickly. It also supplies O2 to help burn unburned gasses

ah well that explains that that little tube on mine is for, my cat is very loose and you can literally spin it, im gonna tighten the clamps today and seal off thatlittle tube as well

okay, I think i'm going to get rid of it. I know whe i got my car i looked in the engine I saw that there were two lines comming off the exhaust manifold into what I guess is an air flo sensor,I don't know what it is, but I know that the two lines were disconnected from it and are just there to show if the car was ever looked at under the hood.
