Ghetto Ram Air idea - for firebirds

ok, it might be really really ghetto, but i have an idea. take the top of the filter box off and then put a funnel on top (to seal dirty air from clean air). cut the funnel to about 3" opening and then run a pvc pipe behind the radiator, down and then into the air dam, any ideas??? comments??? o and it would be smog legal cuz u keep the filter box and put it back 4 a smog test.

Is there room to run the PVC? Sounds like you want it between the airbox and the hood... or did I read that wrong?

well take the filter lid off, and then that will give some clearance, then run some sorta pvc pipe in the space between the radiator and coolant reserve tank. if i have to, i'd get a shorter filter, or taller, whichever works. sorry if the pic confused you, but i dont have a pic w/o the filter box lid.

well I just noticed that pvc won't fit thru that gap between the coolant reserve tank and the radiator, so I wanna try dryer duct and then maybe a ghetto air scoop (which would be an exhaust fan vent that would look really good as an intake scoop)

Looking at your pic, vision this.
This is what I have decided to do.
Take the top lid.
See that air inlet?
Flatten it.
I used a heat gun to form it into shape.
Air now enters above the radiator support.
BUT, what's in the way?
If ya look further, there is a brace, on the hood, that cuts air flow. Right by the rubber piece on the hood, that supports the correct height of the hood, when it is closed.
I am taking a cutting wheel to that area.
Cutting two openings in that brace, leaving a support on the bottom.
I'm taking the turn signal and turing it into an air scoop.
I have a spare lid (I've already done the heat gun trick to it) a spare turn signal that I have to create into the air scoop. Then cut the hood brace.
In the process of turning the turn signal into a air inlet, I have to recreate a functional turn signal part, also. Part of the fun, with a saw and JB Weld.
